Welcome to the Music Café at Lørenskog
The Song Café in Lørenskog has become a well-known concept for many people in the Lower Romerike area. This is an event organized by the congregation of Salemkirken Lørenskog every other Thursday evening, on even-numbered weeks. Song and music are the main features, along with a publicly approved kitchen that serves light meals at reasonable prices.
We have our own house band and the vocal group ‘Jubel & Fryd’ as regular features, along with plenty of congregational singing, song requests, evenings with open microphon, and various guest singers and musicians. These café evenings have become very popular, with an average of around 80 guests gathering in the café at Salemkirken.”

Most people who visit the café are not members of the church, and a significant number do not identify as Christians. This is the vision for the café: to be an attractive place for people who do not normally attend Christian church gatherings.Therefore, we are intentional about ensuring that the café evenings do not resemble a typical Christian gathering, but instead seek to create a relaxed café atmosphere where all guests can feel at home, with Christian song and music as the main features.”
Once every six months, we organize a ‘Grand Café.’ On this occasion, the café evening is moved to the church’s main hall, where up to 200 guests gather together.
The café evenings start at 06 pm and run until 09 pm. Thursdays on even-numbered weeks.
